Our History

Salt & Light Emporium was officially founded on October 1, 2022, but its calling began long before that — as a whisper from God, a name birthed in prayer, and a vision aligned with a divine purpose. Our journey started not just as a business, but as a ministry: to create a space where beauty and faith can meet, where transformation isn’t just skin deep, and where every step of the experience is guided by our walk with Jesus.

What started as a single salon quickly blossomed into a full-service emporium, expanding into multiple departments including Cryozone (for orthopaedics and recovery) and the Tan Studio, which today function as fully independent service arms.

From the very beginning, this has been a place of warmth, peace, and restoration — where music lifts your spirit, testimonies stir your faith, and God’s love meets you exactly where you are.

Nastassja Du Plessis
Founder | Hair Stylist | Cryo Therapist
As the founder of Salt & Light Emporium, I am deeply passionate about helping people feel beautiful, confident, and whole. I specialise in hairstyling, colouring, and advanced cryotherapy treatments, with 19 years of experience in the hair and beauty industry, delivering every service with care, excellence, and purpose.

For me, hair is more than just hair — it's art. It’s a form of self-expression and renewal. What I love most about this work is seeing how a simple change on the outside can spark something powerful within.

This business is my God-given calling — and I pray that everyone who enters our space encounters His peace and presence in some way.

Beauty Therapist | Cosmetologist
With over 10 years of experience and a diploma in cosmetology, I bring both skill and heart to every treatment I provide. I specialise in waxing, microneedling, peels, frotox, slimming therapies, nails, and massage.

What fills me with joy is connecting with people from all walks of life — and helping them feel confident, refreshed, and radiant. At Salt & Light, I’ve found a place where my professional gifts and personal passion align.

Tanning & Ozone Therapist | Hair Operator | PA
I began my journey as a PA and sunbed operator in 2021, and since joining Salt & Light in 2022, I’ve grown tremendously — thanks to Nas, who encouraged and supported me to pursue certification in Spray Tanning and Ozone Therapy.

Today, I specialise in providing safe, flawless tanning and therapeutic ozone treatments. I feel incredibly blessed to be part of a business that values growth, faith, and family. Every day, I thank God for this opportunity and the people I work with.

As a hairstylist in training at Salt & Light Emporium, I am passionate about learning the art of hair and helping people feel confident and uplifted.
